PAIA access-to-information manual
A section 51 manual for requesting records held by PrintVeld’s individual operator.
Effective 2026-10-09
Operator and access contact
Jean Martin Zuidersma operates PrintVeld as an individual in South Africa. PrintVeld is the platform name, rather than a separate registered company.
A non-residential correspondence address has not yet been confirmed. Please email the operator about written correspondence. Legal and privacy contact: zuidersmainnovations@gmail.com.
The operator is the head of this private body and handles access requests. Information Officer registration is not yet completed; this manual does not claim registration. This manual is available free online; contact us to arrange inspection or a copy.
The PAIA guide and forms
The Information Regulator South Africa publishes a PAIA guide, access request Form 2, fees/outcome Form 3 and complaint information. Its guide explains how to use PAIA and the available remedies. Contact the Regulator on 010 023 5200 or use its published contact channels for help. PAIA Form 2 is different from POPIA’s correction/deletion Form 2.
Records held
Public pages, published news, forum threads, licensed model metadata, public maker profiles, marketplace listings, source credits, policies and published filament offers can be read without a PAIA request. Other categories held may include Identity/account records, private profiles, contributions and uploads awaiting review or withdrawn, private messages, contact-form submissions, reports and moderation records, policy acknowledgements, supplier-check records, hosting/deployment records, service-provider agreements and operational correspondence. Listing a category does not mean every record is accessible or exists for every person.
Relevant records may be held under POPIA, PAIA, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act and copyright legislation, as applicable. Access remains subject to those laws, confidentiality, the rights of other people and lawful grounds for refusal.
How to request a record
Complete PAIA Form 2 and send it to zuidersmainnovations@gmail.com. Contact the operator by email to arrange postal correspondence. Identify the record, the right you seek to exercise or protect, why the record is required for that right, your preferred access format and contact details. Supply proof of authority if acting for someone else. We may seek proportionate identity verification privately; never send passwords.
We consider the request under PAIA and ordinarily notify you of the decision within 30 calendar days after receiving a valid request. A lawful extension or refusal is explained with reasons and remedies. If a prescribed request, search, preparation, reproduction or delivery fee applies, we notify you before access or the relevant work; statutory exemptions apply. We do not invent flat fees.
Personal information under POPIA
Use zuidersmainnovations@gmail.com or the Get in touch form and select “Privacy / deletion request”. Tell us which account or record is involved and the help you need. Do not send a password, identity number or unrelated sensitive documents. We may ask for proportionate proof that you control the account or are authorised to act for someone else, using a private channel.
You may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access, correct inaccurate information, object on reasonable grounds where the law allows, withdraw an optional consent, or request deletion of information we are no longer entitled to retain. The Information Regulator provides POPIA objection and correction/deletion forms. These rights have lawful limits; we explain any refusal and the available complaint route. Requests for records under PAIA use the separate PAIA process.
Processing purposes, recipients, international transfers and general safeguards are described in the privacy notice. Reasonable safeguards include verified accounts, HTTPS, restricted member/moderator access, input validation and limits on uploads. General privacy requests can be raised directly without making every enquiry a formal PAIA application.
If you disagree with a decision
Ask the operator to clarify or reconsider a decision. This is not a statutory internal appeal for a private body. PAIA permits complaints to the Information Regulator and court remedies subject to their requirements and time limits; see the Regulator’s current PAIA guide and complaint process. You do not have to accept a platform review as your only remedy.
Updates
Manual version: 2026-10-09. The operator reviews it when contact details, records, processing or applicable obligations change.
