LOCAL ROOTS. CLEAR GROUND RULES.
Platform terms
The ground rules for accounts, community participation, model sharing and marketplace enquiries.
Effective 2026-10-09
The platform and its operator
Jean Martin Zuidersma operates PrintVeld as an individual in South Africa. PrintVeld is the platform name, rather than a separate registered company.
A non-residential correspondence address has not yet been confirmed. Please email the operator about written correspondence. Legal and privacy contact: zuidersmainnovations@gmail.com.
PrintVeld provides a community forum, resource library, maker directory, model sharing, sourced news, filament comparisons and marketplace enquiries. It currently has no checkout, escrow or payment handling. Account participation is free. These terms apply to participation; they do not replace statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Accounts and eligibility
Member accounts are currently for people aged 18 or older. Registration and participation require an 18+ declaration; this is a declaration, rather than documentary age verification. Younger visitors may read public pages and use the calculators without an account. If we learn that an account belongs to a child, we will pause participation and contact the account holder about removal or an appropriate guardian process.
Provide truthful account information, use a display name you are entitled to use, keep your credentials secure and do not impersonate another person. Accept these terms and the community guidelines before participating. Google sign-in follows the same participation rules. Optional public profiles and contact display remain separate choices. Tell us about compromised accounts promptly.
Community rules and enforcement
Be constructive and respectful. Do not post unlawful material, threats, harassment, discriminatory abuse, sexual exploitation, scams, stolen files, private personal information, malware or instructions promoting unlawful activity. Disclose commercial interests and keep advertising relevant. Respect copyright, design rights, trademarks and model licences. Report concerns instead of reposting them.
Forum posts appear immediately. Moderators may remove or restrict content, reject reviewed submissions, stop messaging or suspend access for breaches or a credible safety concern. We preserve only evidence reasonably needed for investigation or lawful obligations. Where appropriate we explain the action; contact zuidersmainnovations@gmail.com to request a review. Posting something illegal can also have consequences under South African law. Moderation does not make prior unlawful publication permissible.
Your contributions and licences
You retain ownership of your content. By submitting it you grant PrintVeld a non-exclusive permission to store, reproduce, resize or format, display and transmit it as needed to run the platform and its backups, subject to withdrawal and lawful retention. This does not transfer ownership or permit unrelated commercial exploitation. You must have the necessary rights and permissions, including for photographs and remixes.
A shared model is offered under its displayed licence. Read its attribution, commercial-use, modification and share-alike restrictions before downloading or using it. Copyright licences may not grant trademark, patent, personality or other rights. Removing a file does not revoke rights already granted under an irrevocable licence. Report suspected infringement through the copyright and takedown process.
Marketplace and business sellers
Listings are introductions between members. The buyer and seller agree the product, price, delivery, payment, returns and other transaction terms directly. PrintVeld is not the seller of member listings and does not hold funds or guarantee a transaction. Keep enquiries on the platform until you are comfortable exchanging details, verify the other party and avoid payment pressure.
Describe condition and defects accurately. Identify whether you sell in the ordinary course of business. A business supplier must provide the disclosures and consumer protections applicable to its transaction, including its legal identity, relevant registration and contact information, total costs, delivery and return/refund terms. Provide required private transaction disclosures before agreement; the platform does not require publishing your home address in a listing. Casual private sales may have different legal treatment. No listing or private agreement overrides non-excludable consumer rights.
Information, calculations and external links
News identifies its sources; product claims and availability may change. Filament checks are observations at the displayed time, and supplier checkout prices, VAT, stock and delivery terms must be confirmed with the supplier. Calculators produce estimates from your inputs. Test models and settings for your equipment and use appropriate safety precautions. Community contributions are not professional engineering, medical, legal or other regulated advice.
External sites have their own terms. Links, brand names and credited models do not imply that PrintVeld is affiliated with or endorsed by their owners. Report factual or price errors so we can review them.
Privacy, closure and disputes
The privacy notice explains account and content processing. You may withdraw your own eligible contributions and request account closure or personal information deletion. Requests remain subject to lawful retention and other people’s rights.
Contact zuidersmainnovations@gmail.com to raise a platform complaint. Disputes about a member sale should first be raised with the other party; report suspected fraud privately. These terms are governed by South African law, preserving access to courts, regulators and applicable consumer remedies. Nothing here excludes liability or rights that the law does not allow to be excluded. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or the accuracy of user content.
Changes
Terms version: 2026-10-09. Material changes will be made available here. Continued account participation may require acknowledging the updated version. New paid services or tracking features require their own disclosures and choices before activation.
