Stringing: dry the spool first or tune retraction first?

You have fine strings between PLA towers. Would you first dry the spool using the material maker’s guidance, reduce temperature, or tune retraction? Post your printer, extruder type, filament, temperature, and what you have already tried. Explain what observation would make you change your diagnosis. Please keep drying equipment and temperatures within the manufacturer’s instructions.

Prices and stock are manually checked; they do not refresh automatically. This is a curated selection of South African retailer listings. Shipping is calculated by the retailer and is excluded from comparisons. Collection filters refer to listed store locations; they do not limit delivery areas.

Use “Compare this variant” for matching brand, product family, material, colour, weight, diameter and spool/refill format. Different product families remain distinct. “Lowest listed price” only describes matching in-stock offers checked within seven days.
