Bambu Lab opens up more of its printer-security work
A September update highlights public security disclosures and a broader bug-bounty programme, giving connected-printer users more information to follow.
Bambu Lab’s 2 September 2026 security update described progress since the launch of its Trust Center in October 2025. The company highlighted a public Security Update page for disclosures and patches, alongside an expanded bug-bounty programme involving external security researchers.
The announcement also discusses its privacy and security certification work. For printer owners, the practical change is having a clearer place to look for the manufacturer’s explanations of reported issues and their fixes.
PrintVeld’s take: connected printers bring a trust question into the workshop. For South African makers producing customer prototypes or working from home, convenience, account access and the sensitivity of uploaded designs can all affect which workflow feels appropriate.
A security programme is an ongoing process, not a promise that a device can never have a vulnerability. Use the linked update to follow Bambu Lab’s published information and decide which connection features fit your own work.
How do you use your printer: cloud features for convenience, a local network workflow, or an entirely offline setup? Tell the forum which feature made that choice worthwhile and what information you want manufacturers to publish.
A place for useful models and the parts we still need. Credit the designer. Share what you can. Build on each other’s ideas.
