Prusa’s 13 August 2026 lineup announcement introduced the XL+, CORE One L+ and CORE One+ Gen 2. Alongside model changes, the company emphasised practical refinements and upgrade paths for existing owners.

All three updated models include nozzle wipers. The announcement also describes changes intended to improve print preparation and consistency, including heatbed-mounting changes on the CORE One+ Gen 2 that reduce waiting associated with thermal expansion. These are manufacturer-described improvements, rather than results from a PrintVeld comparison test.

PrintVeld’s take: a cleaner start and a more predictable routine can be valuable for South African makers who print between other jobs. The best upgrade may be the one that removes a repeated interruption, even if it does not produce the largest increase in advertised speed.

Existing owners should compare the changes relevant to their own model and check the specific upgrade package. A refreshed product name alone does not tell you which parts your printer needs or what an import will cost.

Would you rather spend your next printer budget on speed, cleaner first layers or easier maintenance? Explain the problem your current machine makes you solve repeatedly.
